About therapy: As a psychotherapist, I see therapy as a healing process, melding the contradictions of change and acceptance. The therapist and client become a team working together. Together we create a safe, secure space. Together we identify your goals and find effective ways for you to cope and heal pain. Together we search for a path to free you from what holds you back, so that you can live more fully in your life.

About me: In 1982, I earned my doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of Georgia. Since 1984, I have been in private practice in Savannah, working with people coping with depression, anxiety, stress, trauma and abuse recovery, life transitions, and family and relationship problems. In 2014, I published Sand in Your Sandpile, Facing Life's Stresses about self-care as a way to build emotional resilience for more effectively managing stress. I currently work with adults of all ages, couples, and older adolescents.

About payment: I am an out-of-network provider for insurance. Please talk with me about fees. I want psychotherapy to be an accessible service. I can be reached at 912-675-1997 or deborahkearneyphd@gmail.com
